BS9A - IMPLICATIONS OF THE RESURRECTION

If Jesus did rise from the dead, as the early Christians said, then we can be sure about a lot of things. We can be sure that Jesus IS who he claims to be.

He is the Son of God, sent to earth as a man…..
Mark 14:61-62 / John 11:27 / Galatians 4:4

…..and now back with God in the Heavenly places.
Mark 16:19 / 1 Peter 3:22

We can be sure as the Son of God that he had the authority and power to fulfill his mission.
Matthew 28:19

He provided the final sacrifice for our sins.
Hebrews 9:25-28 / 10:11-12

He destroyed our old perverted nature that keep us sinning. He did this IN himself on the cross so that when he died, we too died.
Romans 6:6 / Galatians 2:20

Then he gave us a new nature – his own indwelling spirit-- so that we have the power to overcome sin in our lives.
John 20:22 / Acts 2:1-4 / Galatians 3:14

We can be sure that because Jesus fulfilled his mission -- WE can start over if we want to --- living as new creations in Christ,
2 Corinthians 5:17

……walking in partnership with God and fulfilling the purpose he has for our lives.
John 14:12-14 / 1 John 2:5-6

We can be optimistic about ourselves, mankind, and this present world because it means that it’s still in the hands of the risen Lord of the universe.
2 Chronicles 20:6 / Job 42:2 / Proverbs 16:1 / Matthew 10:29-31 / Romans 8:28 / Ephesians 1:1-4, 11

We can be sure that there is life after death and Jesus is prepared to take us there.
John 11:25

Finally, if Jesus is alive then it’s possible for us to meet him!
